Kelly Frye of Rake fame will appear on The Flash as longtime Firestorm villain Plastique, E! Online reports.

The character, last seen in the New 52 during the final arc of The Fury of Firestorm the Nuclear Man, has been a love interest for Captain Atom in the past as well as a member of the Suicide Squad, a team that appeared fairly regularly throughout the second half of Arrow's second season and which is being groomed for a potential spinoff series, according to actor David Ramsey, who also told us that the Squad will see more action in Season Three as Lyla Michaels, Diggle's ex-wife and current love interest, will be in charge of A.R.G.U.S., the organization that oversees it.

E! describes the TV version of Bette Sans Souci as "a bomb disposal expert in Iraq who, following exposure to the energy released by the S.T.A.R. Labs meltdown...now has the ability to turn any object she touches into an explosive device. On the run from the shadow forces in the U.S. government trying to turn her into a human weapon, she finds an ally in fellow metahuman The Flash."

What could those shadowy forces be? Well, with A.R.G.U.S. in the hands of the good guys, we have to wonder what Amanda Waller will be up to...and whether it could be called Checkmate, S.H.A.D.E. or any of a handful of other potentially dangerous quasi-governmental organizations in the DC Universe.

Maybe even one that employs a certain Nathaniel Adam? Anyway, Firestorm has already been cast, so we can see that come to a head at some point this season, more likely than not.

The Flash premieres October 7.
