Salute!

Captain America: Civil War is now the sixth-highest superhero movie of all time. Not only did Marvel's latest outing beat the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($868.8M)but also the original Sam Raimi Spider-Man ($821.7M), and the much maligned Spider-Man 3 ($890.9M).

This really shouldn't come to a shock to anybody as Marvel is continuing its own trend of unstoppable hits. Sure, you had your misfires along the way, but rarely are they off-target.

Currently, Civil War stands at $940,892,078, and could easily break the much treasured sweet spot, and seemingly new standard marking of a blockbuster, of a billion worldwide. The only competition so far would be X-Men: Apocalypse which opens in a few weeks, so in the meantime, Civil War could dominate, getting that much more money along the way.

Here's the current breakdown of the six highest grossing superhero movies of all time.

Avengers = $1,519,557,910
Avengers: Age Of Ultron = $1,405,413,868
Iron Man 3 = $1,215,439,994
The Dark Knight Rises $1,084,939,099
The Dark Knight $1,004,558,444
Captain America: Civil War = $940,892,078
