Happy birthday, Kyle MacLachlin! The actor is celebrating his 57th birthday today.

A popular actor whose body of work exists mostly in television, MacLachlan is best known for his career-defining role in Twin Peaks as Special Agent Dale Cooper. He has also held longer arcs in popular television shows like The Good Wife, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, and Sex & The City.

MacLachlan finally made it into the world of comic book adaptations in 2014 for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As Calvin Zabo/The Doctor, MacLachlan appeared in much of the show's second season. However, it's likely that fans are much more excited for the actor's return to Twin Peaks, when the series returns to Showtime in 2017.
