The Walking Dead alum Emily Kinney has joined the cast of ABC's Conviction.

The new legal drama stars Hayley Atwell (Marvel's Agent Carter) and Shawn Ashmore (X-Men: Days of Future Past), and has Atwell playing brilliant-but-rebellious daughter of former President, who is forced to become the head of Los Angeles' newly created Conviction Integrity Unit.

"Kinney will play Tess Thompson, the paralegal for the Unit team who is extremely bright, but a bit naive and occasionally, an underlying dark sadness emerges," Variety reports. "Tess used to work for the Innocence Project, but decided to work for CIU because she thinks she can make a bigger impact working more cases from inside the system. She is a true believer in the cause of wrongful convictions — for reasons that she keeps secret."

Aside from playing Beth Greene on AMC's The Walking Dead, Kinney has landed guest roles on The Flash, The Knick, Masters of Sex and The Big C.

Conviction has not yet been ordered to series.
