We all know by now that Jared Leto dove deep into the role of The Joker in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, however, it is a bit shocking that the Oscar-winning actor never put away his villainous persona to introduce himself properly to his costar Will Smith, who plays Deadshot.

"I have never actually met Jared Leto," Smith told Zane Lowe on Monday's Beats 1 radio show. "We worked together for six months and we've never exchanged a word outside of 'action' and 'cut. We've never said, hello. We've never said, good day. I've only ever spoken to him as Deadshot and him as The Joker. I literally have not met him yet ... No, not a single word exchanged off camera. He was all in on The Joker."

Smith added, "I'm looking forward to meeting him. I've only ever met The Joker."

Listen to Smith's comments, starting at 15:45, in the video below.

Directed and written by David Ayer (Fury) and features an all-star cast: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Jay Hernandez, and Karen Fukahara.

Suicide Squad is set to be released August 5, 2016.
