The cast and crew of Star Wars: The Force Awakens have a very special message for their fans.

Disney is committing $1 million to support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change which will benefit UNICEF.

The initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm in collaboration with Bad Robot is dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world's biggest problems.

Between May 21-July 25, 2014, fans of UNICEF and Star Wars entered for a chance to be filmed in Star Wars: Episode VII. Over 125 countries participated in the campaign and impressively raised over $4.2 million for UNICEF's innovative, lifesaving work for children.

Disney and UNICEF have a long collaborative history.

The two organizations first collaborated at the 1964 World's Fair when Disney unveiled the It's A Small World attraction, a tribute to UNICEF and children around the world.
