Marvel is reportedly in "advanced negotiations" to head to Pinewood-Shepperton Studios to film in mid-2015, according to Screen Daily.

According to the report, the shoot would begin in May 2015 to give the studio just over a year to prep the film for a July 8, 2016 release date.

Also according to the report the next James Bond film is expected to shoot there in late 2015 and early 2016, but other reports have suggested Bond 24 starts shooting on December 6, 2014.

That release date hasn't yet been officially announced by Marvel, but has been widely reported as the "common sense" release date given the fact that it's the next of Marvel's many "Untitled Marvel Studios Film" release dates and Doctor Strange is the next film expected to go into production. It's unclear whether Screen Daily has some inside information on the release date, or whether they're just going with what's widely assumed.

ComicBook.com's comic book movie release calendar still features the date as an untitled Marvel movie, but we're seeking confirmation on the Doctor Strange reports and will update accordingly.

Jon Spaihts is writing the latest version of the script for director Scott Derrickson. Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer have worked on earlier drafts, although how much of their work will be retained has been a topic of much debate. The most current rumor is that the movie will star Joaquin Phoenix as Dr. Stephen Strange, the Master of the Mystic Arts and first line of defense between earth and magical threats. The character has not yet appeared in a Marvel movie, although he was referenced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and had a TV movie in 1978.
