DC Comics continues to see tremendous interest in its properties for television series. According to Deadline, the latest DC Comics' character in development as a TV series is Lucifer from The Sandman series.

Fox has reportedly given a put pilot commitment to Lucifer. The series will be written and executive produced by Tom Kapinos and Warner Bros TV.

Lucifer actually made his first appearance in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #65 way back in 1962. But in the modern era, Lucifer is best known as a supporting character in The Sandman comic book series. Lucifer also was featured in his own Vertigo spinoff series, which lasted for 75 issues.

The TV series will center on a Lucifer, who becomes bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and takes up residence in Los Angles. Lucifer opens an exclusive piano bar called Lux.
